Congratulations to Ann & Morris on celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary.  Ann Stormer-Wahl is the youngest daughter of Sophie Schwallenstecker-Stormer.  Sophie Schwallenstecker-Stormer's father, Henry Schwallenstecker was the youngest son of Adam Schwallenstecker and Barbara Bucher and was born in 1861.  He spent all of his life in the Alton, IL. area.  He lived on the Alton riverfront and carried the title of "King Swanny".  He was a large red headed man, of strong will and of stronger strength.  It has been told that when the Missouri Point farmers came to Alton to recruit day labor that he was the first to be hired and could do the work of two ordinary men and was paid accordingly.
